Next Alpha begins on Thursday 1st February.

What is Alpha?

You may be surprised to know that a staggering 27 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course. Alpha is for anyone to explore the Christian faith, no matter what their background or beliefs, and is currently running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the globe.

"What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions: life, death and their meaning"

The Guardian

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for anyone who's curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.

How does it work?

Alpha is nine sessions with a Weekend Away in the middle (17th-19th November). Each session includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. At any point, if you think Alpha isn't for you, that's not a problem. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge.

The evening starts at 7pm on Thursday, with dinner until 7.30pm. We’re always finished by 9pm.

We will meet at St Matthias Church

Can I help?

We're always looking for volunteers to help at Alpha. There are several teams you can get involved in so if you’d like to help with Alpha, please drop us an email at:
