GROUPS
Groups are one of the key ways we connect with each other, grow in faith, make friends, and do life together.
Groups are gatherings of people who meet weekly or fortnightly during term time across Fiveways and Hollingdean to worship, pray and read the Bible together.
We would love to help you connect into a Group at St Matthias. Have a look and sign up to one of our groups below, and we'll be in touch with the details.
Go Group Anderson
'Discovery' Group, Patcham
A group hosted by Rich and meets fortnightly at Gordon & Kat's house in Patcham. We simply create an intentional space for the spirit to move through scripture, our conversations and dessert!
Meets weekly on Tuesdays at 19:45
'Soul Food' Group
Soul Food is a group open to all that meets in Hollingdean. Led by Kat and Doug, we are a group committed to learning and growing in faith, praying for one another and the world, and sharing the trials and joys of life all over a plate of snacks. We also try to meet for socials that often also revolve around food or getting outside together. Kat and Doug live in Hollingdean with their two primary school aged children. Kat is a Clinical Psychologist running her own practice in Brighton and working remotely for Exeter University and Doug is an IT consultant running his own consultancy business. They moved "up the hill" to St Matthias in 2017 as part of the initial plant from St Peters and have been involved in many varied areas of church life since then from Dadventure to the Worship and Production teams.
Meets fortnightly on Tuesday's at 19:45
Fiveways Online Group
A group who meet on zoom to support and pray for each other and to share inspiration from the Bible. We also have regular hang out socials. This group is especially good for those who struggle with getting a babysitter, so you can meet from the comfort of your home.
Meets fortnightly on Tuesdays at 20:00
Time Out Together
“TIME OUT TOGETHER” (TOT’s) meet from 10.00 until 12.00 every Friday in the church hall. It is an opportunity for the more mature members of our community to meet and to invite friends and neighbours along, especially those who live alone. The meetings alternate between “social gatherings” for coffee, quizzes, games or a “singalong” led by Sue, and “fellowship meetings” for prayer, Bible study, and the singing of favourite hymns led by Dave. All are welcome.
Meets Weekly on friday's at 10:00
