Playcafé

The St Matthias Playcafé is a not-for-profit community café run by a small team and volunteers. 

Our vision is that every parent, carer and pre-school child experiences Playcafé as a space to build loving community and a place to belong.

Opening Times: The Playcafé is open Monday-Friday, 9:00-12:30 in school

term times.  

What to expect:

The St Matthias Playcafé is a friendly and loving community supporting families with babies and young children. With quality toys, delicious coffee and tasty snacks you’ll experience a warm welcome in this beautiful space.

Come and visit!

We’d love to meet you. We have a team of volunteers to help and greet you, especially if it’s your first time. Drop in for an hour or come for the whole morning!

If you are able to, it helps us if you can buy a drink or snack from the café.

Supporting the Playcafé

The Playcafé is run as a not-for-profit enterprise. All sales, donations and income from events go directly to the Playcafé and supporting the people who visit.

There are a number of ways you can support the Playcafé:

Volunteering: We rely on our team of volunteers to keep providing excellent service and welcome. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Millie at millie.chant@stmatthiasbrighton.org.

Donating pre-loved toys: We accept donations of pre-loved wooden toys and books in good condition. If you are interested in donating, pop into the Playcafé or contact us via the email below.

Giving financially: There are a few ways you can give to Playcafé.

Could you give a one-off gift? Or could you give regularly? Regular giving helps us with those essential costs like heating and lighting – costs which have really gone up in recent times. If you would like to give regularly to support the running of the Playcafé.
